A Word of Hope for a New Year

I hope that you had a nice Christmas. Sandy and I enjoyed being in a position to give and more importantly to be with family and friends, enjoying the many freedoms that we have.

I wake up each day with a thankful heart to God for His goodness, kindness, grace, and mercy. It’s good to be alive and have another chance to discover what a day can bring. I was saddened this year by the death of so many friends and acquaintances. Their passing was a wake up call to look at life, not in fear, but expectancy and fervor to make a difference.

I have observed over the years that too many people are like ships driven by the wind without a rudder. It’s the wind (environment) that determines their destiny and not them. They depend on luck and “the breaks” to get through life, but it was never meant to be that way. Eventually they go to their graves with their dreams in them.

We have a mind, intuition, and a will by which we were designed to create our own destiny based on our innate gifts and talents. The longing you have, the things you love and hate are all indicators as to why you are here. You were destined for greatness…everyone is.

It’s the lack we feel that becomes the driving force to get us off our butts to seek for something more, something greater for our lives. The feeling of lack is a good thing when understood what it is truly meant for…to move us toward our purpose.

As the New Year approaches I hope that you will consider what you would like to see happen in 2012. It doesn’t have to be like 2011. It can be greater…much greater! Regardless of your circumstances you can see things begin to shift in your favor.

Forget the negative news broadcasts. Forget the doom-and-gloom crowd. Stand up and DECIDE your path this coming year. Rid you mind of all negativity. Forgive those who hurt you and release all who have offended you. Start this year with aim and purpose. Write down some goals and develop a plan to achieve them. Use your “rudder” and decide your life…don’t LET it happen, MAKE it happen.

If, by chance, you read this, are touched and do want a better year, please contact me and let’s discuss some ways to make that happen. It’s not too late, no matter how broke, sick, or hopeless you may feel. Even is all is well, there is room for improvement. I have found that it is good to kick things around with someone who cares.

May God bless you this coming Year…I mean that! Like I said, don’t let life lead you, take charge and create the life of your dreams. It starts with a DECISION
